Melt blown fabric production process
Melt blown fabric is a type of non-woven fabric that is widely used in medical, health, environmental protection, industrial and other fields due to its excellent protective performance and breathability. The production process of melt blown fabric can be divided into raw material processing, melt preparation, melt blown forming, winding, and other stages. The following will introduce each step one by one.
1, Raw material processing
The main raw material for melt blown fabric is polypropylene (PP) particles, which are processed into a melt and then sprayed. In the process of raw material processing, the first step is to screen and dry the particles. Polypropylene particles need to be screened before removing any particles that do not meet the requirements to ensure the quality of the produced melt blown fabric. Then dry the screened particles to remove moisture and impurities, and improve the quality of their melt.
2, Melt preparation
The dried polypropylene particles need to be melted into a melt through heating and pressure, and then sprayed out through a spinneret to form fine fibers. In the process of melt preparation, polypropylene particles need to be placed in the melt preparation equipment and melted by heating and pressure to become a liquid melt. Then, the melt is fed into the spinneret and sprayed out into fine fibers through a rotating spinneret wheel. At this time, the fiber diameter of melt blown cloth is usually between 1-10 microns.
3, Melt blown molding
In the melt blown forming process, the sprayed fibers are arranged, oriented, and stacked in a certain way through high-speed airflow to form a certain network structure. At the same time, during the melt blown forming process, it is necessary to heat and compact the fibers to a certain extent, so that they can be bonded into melt blown fabric. In the process of melt blown molding, rotating drums or electrospinning are usually used to make the fiber stacking, arrangement, and orientation more precise and regular.
4, Roll up
The melt blown fabric needs to be rolled up after melt blown molding for subsequent processing and use. In the winding process, automatic or manual winding machines are usually used to roll the meltblown fabric into a certain length and width, and then packaged with plastic film or paper tubes for storage and transportation.
summary
The production process of melt blown fabric involves multiple links such as raw material processing, melt preparation, melt blown forming, and winding. In different production processes, different equipment and processes are required to ensure the quality and performance of the produced melt blown fabric. By understanding and mastering the production process of melt blown fabric, one can better understand its performance and characteristics, providing stronger support for the application of melt blown fabric.
