Current situation of melt blown fabric industry
The production of melt blown non-woven fabrics in China is approximately 53400 tons. Due to the strong demand for domestic masks, especially medical masks, there is a short-term supply gap for melt blown non-woven fabrics. However, due to the gradual control of the epidemic outside Hubei Province, the demand for masks is expected to gradually decrease. Melt blown fabric can be called the "heart" of medical surgical masks and N95 masks. The business intelligence report of the melt blown fabric industry points out that there are fewer enterprises that can provide melt blown fabrics, which are more important for medical masks. The business scope of enterprises involving melt blown fabrics is mainly concentrated in Jiangsu (23.53%), Zhejiang (13.73%), and Henan (11.76%) provinces, all accounting for more than 10%, accounting for 49.02% of the national total. Hubei Province has 2465 non-woven fabric enterprises, accounting for only 4.03% of the national total.
The large-scale development of melt blown nonwoven fabrics in China began at the beginning of this century and reached its peak in 2009. In the past decade, due to the impact of the European and American debt crisis and the slowdown in domestic economic growth, the development speed has slowed down, and the market has become more rational.
From the perspective of the industrial chain, the current situation of the melt blown fabric industry mainly relies on polypropylene as the main raw material, and the fiber diameter can reach 1-5 microns. Due to the fact that polypropylene, the raw material for melt blown fabrics, is sourced from petroleum, petrochemical enterprises have advantages in producing melt blown fabrics. The special material for melt blown fabric is polypropylene with high melt index. The higher the melt index of polypropylene, the finer the fibers sprayed out, and the better the filtration performance of the melt blown fabric.
