How To Store Melt Blown Non-woven Fabric To Ensure Filtration Efficiency?

Melt blown non-woven fabric is the core filtering material of masks, which is mainly determined by the filtering mechanism of melt blown filtering materials, mainly divided into mechanical barrier and electrostatic adsorption. So the question is, how can we ensure that the filtration efficiency of the purchased melt blown non-woven fabric does not deteriorate during storage?

1, Mechanical barriers can occur in the following situations

1. Droplets with a particle size greater than 5um in the air can be blocked by filter materials.

2. When the diameter of the fine dust is less than 3um, the fine dust is mechanically intercepted by the curved pore fiber layer in the mask filter material.

3. When the particle size and airflow velocity are both large, the particles are captured due to inertia and fiber collision. When the particle flow velocity is low, the particles are captured due to Brownian motion and impact on the fiber.

2, Electrostatic adsorption

Usually, in the production process of melt blown fabrics, polar treatment is used to add more static electricity to the non-woven fabric, which has an electrostatic adsorption effect. Electrostatic adsorption refers to the capture of dust bacteria and viruses by the Coulomb force of the charged fibers when the fibers of the filtering material are charged.

There are two ways to improve the charge storage capacity of electret materials:

1. By increasing the crystallinity and mechanical deformation of the material, the structure of the material changes, forming slender pore channels to organize charge drift.

2. By introducing additives with charge storage properties, charge traps are generated to capture charges.

3, How to store mask meltblown fabric

The key to improving the filtration efficiency of masks lies in the electrostatic storage of meltblown non-woven fabrics. Melt blown non-woven fabric polarizers are highly sensitive to environmental humidity. During the transportation and storage of melt blown fabrics, it is necessary to avoid high humidity environments.
